what is hyperball?
Teams of 4-5 Players
Having three teams of 4-5 players, instead of two teams of 12 provides more opportunities for each player to be involved. This format delivers more at-bats per contest, fielding reps and positional opportunities, as well as more base running situations. These are great ways to enhance skill development and keep everyone engaged.

Rotating Roles
Rotating from "hitting" to "outfield priority" to "infield priority" keeps the game dynamic and ensures each player gets a chance to experience different positions. This can lead to a more well-rounded understanding of the game and its various roles.

Hyper Rules
Hyper rules are fantastic for keeping the game moving and the excitement levels high. This could include things like:
-
Limiting time between pitches: Ensuring that pitchers work quickly and batters don't take too long to get ready.
-
Quick innings: Perhaps limiting the number of pitches per inning, encouraging batters to swing and fielders to make plays efficiently.
-
Continuous batting order: Instead of strict innings, each team could have a continuous batting order, ensuring everyone gets a turn without long breaks.
Benefits
-
More Developmental: With everyone actively participating in every game, players can improve their skills across different positions.
-
Exciting: The fast-paced nature of the game with speed-up rules can create intense moments and keep both players and spectators engaged.
-
Fun: Ultimately, the goal is to have fun! This format seems designed to ensure that every player is involved and enjoying themselves.

Overall, this format is a fantastic way to modernize baseball, making it more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for our players of all levels.

TESTIMONIALS
Dennis D'Augostine
Hyperball is the most Fun, High Energy version of Baseball I've ever seen. So much so, it only took 1-game for all three of my boys to conclude they want in!
Alisha Jones
Hyperball is amazing. My son learned how to play all infield and outfield positions. The game is fast and exciting. My favorite part was the amount of at-bats our son would receive each game. We can't wait to do it again!
Amy Rosencrance
Hyperball gives younger players a fun and fast means to play every position and get 2-3 times the number of at-bats they normally would get in a traditional game. It simply blends practice and games into a fun and engaging atmosphere where players will be able to improve their individual skills while also developing stronger relationships with their respective teammates.

What type of equipment/supplies or attire will my player need for the league?Players will be required to bring their own baseball equipment (bat, glove and helmet). They will also need rubber/molded baseball spikes. We ask all players to bring their own water bottle with their name on it to both practices and games. All players will be supplied 2 game jerseys (home & away), a practice jersey, game hat and belt. We do NOT provide baseball pants so players will need to have their own (WHITE) baseball pants. Practice Attire: Practice Shirt, Baseball Pants (unless instructed otherwise), Rubber/Molded Spikes and Game Hat. Game Attire: Gold Jersey (Away Team) & White Jersey (Middleman) & Black Jersey (Home Team). This will be assigned ahead of time on the league schedule that will be distributed by September 1.
-
What is the league age of my player?Whatever your player's age is as of September 1, 2024 would determine his league age. For example, if your child turns 9 years old on August 15, his or her league age would be 9.
-
What if my child cannot complete the 7 week season due to medical issues or moving out of the area?Pro-Tech Athletics will pro-rate a refund based on the length of season your player participated in. We will also have to deduct the set forth amount of the uniform costs, which is equivalent to approximately $120. There is always an option to apply a credit to your account at Pro-Tech Athletics for future services/programs.

What if my child plays a fall sport where there is a potential conflict with practices or games? We are strong advocates of multi-sport athletes! Players who play a fall sport like football, soccer, etc. will usually start practicing in late summer but with a little effort and responsibility, players can definitely take advantage of the Hyperball experience simultaneously. We do our best as an organization to work with fall sports teams and coaches to create a good balance for the athlete and their family. If a player must miss a practice or a game here and there, it is not critical. It's a part of life to find balance. We do suggest finding out how often your Fall team intends to practice and what their game schedule may look like. This will determine if both are eligible to co-exist and in that case, your player is in for an amazing experience!

What is the parent's involvement or role at a Hyperball practice or game? What is the role of Hyperball Staff in relation to my child? In case of emergencies, it's always best to have the player's guardian available. There is also a huge benefit in getting to observe the high level instruction and energy surrounded throughout the format of Hyperball. Whether its practices or game days, parents can always learn and/or be entertained with the exciting and growing moments of their children. We insist that once players enter the confines of the field, parents welcome the luxury to cut the cord and sit back and relax. Parents should not have to come to the dugout or caretake during any practice or game unless special circumstances such as emergency, behavioral issue, etc. We understand a child's guardian may have to run errands or have logistical priorities and in those events, our staff is fully equipped to make sure all children are safe and in good hands. At every Hyperball practice and game, the staff in attendance will possess the necessary clearances to ensure that safety and security of your child.

How competitive is a Hyperball League designed to be?The rules and format of Hyperball is always promoting competition. We keep score, crown player of the game, end of year awards, etc. Our objective is for every player to become 1% better than yesterday. This means that we are constantly rising the expectations for all players on all levels. We also have some processes in place to ensure the skill gap between players is not too great which would deter our singleness of purpose. It will be our discretion to determine whether we believe each player is a good fit for our Hyperball league based on several different factors (skill, attitude, maturity, ethic, etc.). Teams will be created evenly according to skill level to make sure that competitive events are fair.

How are teams assigned? Can my child play with his friends? When you sign up your player, there is a section where you may input your child's friends that he would like to play with. We think it's a benefit for friends to be able to play with each other and in the event some friends play on other teams in the league this also creates a healthy and friendly competition as well. There is also a component where your player will get a lot of opportunity to meet new friends as we will practice all together and familiar faces will be a constant. We will do a thorough job to communicate with parents ahead of time when assigning your child to his respective roster. If friend groups are too large or other circumstances prevail, we will always communicate to explore other options and make sure there are no conflicts.
